my ex-wife and I divorced, she signed a quit claim deed but she forgot to put her name off of the mortgage. So, her lawyer sent me a letter stating I was responsible that I am supposed to assume the debt and I am because I have made all payments since we divorced in 2007. I am considering refinancing but I might not qualify and I am short on money to do an inspection, refinance, etc. So, does she have any power over me or can I just stand my ground? What can she do by the court to force me to sell, take her name off, etc.?

Thanks

In your divorce paperwork does it stipulate that you are responsible for the mortgage?
