Community launches easy-to-follow home buying booklet

Posted on: 05th Dec, 2006 01:41 am
Hi all,

Our community has finally launched the booklet – Making Smart Decisions: 9 steps to financing your home. It's a sort of handbook giving you an idea about the home buying process. There are also add-on features, such as worksheets with helpful tips and decision-making tools to help you think over every aspect prior to taking decisions.

We have divided the entire home buying process into 9 important steps so that people find it easier to understand the process. The steps are given below:
  1. Which is the better Option – Buying or Renting?
  2. Which home buying option is right for you?
  3. Can you qualify for a mortgage?
  4. Which lender should you approach?
  5. Which Rate Option suits your situation?
  6. How can you decide upon the right lender?
  7. How would you apply for mortgage pre-approval?
  8. What's next after applying?
  9. What is closing all about?
Buyers handbook
We have priced the booklet at $19. Earlier we have fixed the price as $24 but considering the feedback of our members we decided to lower the price, so that people can afford to purchase it and use it for their help.

However, we do have limited number of free copies of the booklet available with our community members having made more than 100 posts in forums. So, anyone willing to have a free copy can contact them and request for it.

On behalf of the MF team, I would like to thank all out members who have reviewed this book and send us their valuable suggestions. Their comments and feedback have helped us improve the booklet so that it can benefit all.

Thanks,

Sam

Hi,

I would like to thank this community for allowing me to review the booklet. The booklet is indeed a practical guide not only for beginners but also for others. I think Jessica has come out with something which is really interesting and at the same time helpful.

I hope everyone appreciates the effort put into the making of this book. I would like to thank this community for sending me some free copies of this booklet.

Thanks,

Sara

Hi Sam and all the community members,

Thanks for sending me the few free copies of the Mortgage Booklet.

I went through this booklet. In one word I just say 'Great Job Jessica and other community Members'. This book will be really a handbook for the first time buyers. And those loan and lenders comparison worksheet are excellent. The decision Making Tool is also a very useful that it offering. We can do this type of calculation from some site. But, this is on MS-Excel file and that makes it very user friendly. I have already downloaded on my pc.

Definitely, I will distribute them to my friends and relatives. If any body willing to have a free copy from me, please send me the private message or mail me.

At last once again, Great Job – 'Mortgagefit Community :) '.

Thanks

Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to our forums.

It's absolutely fine if you are not aware of posting in the forum.

Regarding your query, well if you have applied with two companies it does not mean that you will be offered loans from both of them. When you apply, it means you request the company for mortgage quotes including the rates and fees on different types of loan programs that can be offered to you. Until and unless you sign any legal document, you are not into any kind of dealings with any of them.

I think you should enquire about your loan request by simply calling them up at their contact number.

In case you have any further query on mortgge related issues, please feel free to ask us. You may use any section of our forums or our Ask a Question Box on the same page.

Good luck!

Caron.
