Dear Appraisers,
In recent years, there has been a noticeable stagnation of reasonable fees issued by appraisal management companies (AMCs). While fees have changed little, the demanded on time for each appraisal has nearly doubled. This trickle down affect has diminished appraisal quality and driven the best and brightest from our industry.
In an effort to build a stronger case for higher fees, We are gathering data to find out a true customary and reasonable fee schedule from appraisers in different market areas of Georgia. We ask that you review your fees for common appraisal assignments and share your range of what you believe is customary and reasonable for invested time not considering AMC’s or unreasonable competing appraisers. The data gathered will serve as a guide in assessing the state of the appraisal market and a blueprint for developing a better customary and reasonable fee system. Our hope is to develop a statewide fee chart to start a necessary change allowing all appraisers to be fairly compensated.
Sincerely,
AGREA
