Getting appraisal documents from appraiser

Posted on: 17th Jan, 2009 02:21 am
how long does it take to get the documents from an appraiser after the property has been appraised? me and my wife decided to do a property appraisal for a refinance purpose. and have been waiting for a week for the documents. :( does it take so long to get the property appraisal documents?? or will it be a month before i receive the documents?? do you think i should contact the appraiser and ask him??
Hi,

As far as I know, getting the appraisal documents will depend upon the appraiser. Normally, the appraisers give the property appraisal documents to the property owners within a week. I don't think you will have to wait for a month in order to receive the documents. You may contact the appraiser and ask him about the documents but I guess, you will be getting the documents in the next week.

Thanks,

Jerry

boy, have we become an impatient society. i don't think a week is an awfully long time. perhaps there are circumstances that have led to this "delay" on the part of the appraiser. i'd say, give it a few more days before getting worked up.

and i agree with jerry that it certainly won't take a month. that's a pretty big leap, i think; to go from worrying about a week having elapsed to guessing it might be a month before you get what you want.

calm down is the best advice i can give; check with the appraiser and ask when you can expect your report.
