I filed bankruptsy 2.5 yrs ago and I did not reaffirm my home loan. My attorney advised me against reaffirming it. I have paid faithfully every month. In Nov of 2009, Bank of America changed the account number on the loan and sent me a letter that said if I did not pay the mortage they would forclose and report it to my credit report. Is this possible. I don't understand why they would change the account number. We did not request them to. Is this legal in Va? roll:
Welcome Guest,
As you did not reaffirm the mortgage, you are not personally liable for the mortgage dues. But I don't think the lender should have changed the account numbers when your paying the dues on time. You should get in touch with your lender and clarify the whole issue in details.

You need to get back with that attorney ASAP and get his figured out.
