I am 51 years old and live out in Leesville. I recently got let go from a well paying job and had to find another job. The job that I have now does not pay but half of what I used to get paid. Due to that I have had to claim bankruptcy. I cannot afford my mortgage payments, and was wondering if you could help me

hi lindaboo!
welcome to forums!
haven't you included your mortgage in the bankruptcy filing? if yes, then you will get a discharge from it and you won't be personally liable for the mortgage payments. this will be in the case of chapter 7 bankruptcy. however, if you filed chapter 13, then you will get a repayment plan to pay off the dues within the next 3-5 years.
in case, you haven't included the mortgage in your bankruptcy filing, then you can apply for a loan modification once your bankruptcy filing is discharged.
feel free to ask if you've further queries.
