Hello there… I filed bankruptcy on January 4th, 2013 and it was discharged on April 10th, 2013. I tried to get credit tonight but was denied. They pulled my report through Equifax and I have a score of 589. Can you provide me suggestions on improving my credit after bankruptcy?
You cannot get qualified for credit so soon after getting a discharge from bankruptcy filing. You will have to wait for 2 years or more to get qualified for credit. As a part of improving your credit after bankruptcy, you can apply for secured credit cards and maintain them well.

You need to wait at least for a 2 to 3 years period before you can apply for secured credit. Before that you would not be able to qualify for any.
Pay your debt bill at time and make a contact with some " credit credentials " company for improving your credit score.
