wanting to buy a home in about 6 months

Posted on: 03rd Jan, 2009 08:56 am
I like to know which way to go to try and purchase a home. I'm thinking about rent to own. I file bankrupt about 2 years ago, which turn out ok but still lost my home. since then i have relocated and been paying my bills on time and keeping everything straight What i need to know is how to prepare to and what are my choices
weatherman, if your bankruptcy was discharged 2 years or more ago, you have a shot. you mentioned losing your home, but it's not clear if this was through a foreclosure action or by some other method. if foreclosure, that will extend the time in which you'll need to wait to obtain a new mortgage,

you'll want to check your credit - either yourself or with a lender you trust, who can provide some insights on what you need to do to improve things.

you noted 6 months - that might work, and it's a good idea to begin the process now, as you'll have time to overcome any negative items that crop up, perhaps.
