Can car insurance drop?

Posted on: 26th Mar, 2012 02:51 am
if we file chapter 13 bankruptcy, can our car insurance drop us?
Hi VNPL,

As far as I know, the car insurance cannot be dropped. You will have to include the car in your bankruptcy filing and get a repayment plan for the same. The insurance will remain as it is.

Thanks,

Jerry

You can not insure the property of another when no insurable interest exists. It would be unlawful to insure the property or life of another where the intent is to gain unduly from another persons loss.

Bare in mind though that Insuring the car is one thing. Registering the vehicle with your state is another thing and you may have local regulations regarding vehicle registrations as related to auto insurance and the vehicles operation on public roads.

Hi VNPL!

Welcome to forums!

No, your car insurance won't drop though you file Chapter 13 bankruptcy. However, once you get the repayment plan, you will have to make payments as per that repayment plan.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

sabrinatoss,

Your reply makes absolutely no sense, and I've noticed you do that alot. What value do you bring to mortgagefit when your replies don't respond to the Inquiries?

Why are you here? Why do you waste your time and the time of others?
