how long could it take to get aproved an chapter 13 bankruptcy?
The clock starts on a Chapter 13 bankruptcy on the date your petition is filed in federal court. About 2 weeks afterwards, your creditors will be notified of the commencement. Creditors have 30 days after the commencement notification to file complaints or objections. If your attorney did not file a repayment plan along with the original petition, the plan must be filed within 15 days. A meeting of creditors will be set approximately one month after the objection period has expired. Your bankruptcy can be discharged approximately 2 to 3 months after the creditors' meeting.
Thank you.
