Hi jillyb,
Lenders will not be able to garnish your wages or sue you for your debts if your bankruptcy filing have been accepted by the court. The court issues an automatic stay against the lender/creditor which stops them from collecting the dues. Has the court accepted your bankruptcy filing? If yes, then there are chances that you would get back your money. Your bankruptcy attorney will be the best person to answer your query.
Thanks

Hi,
If the court has accepted your bankruptcy filing then the lender will return bank the money. It is also true that the lender cannot garnish your wages or sue you as the bankruptcy has been accepted by the court. The best person to give you detailed information would a good bankruptcy.
