I have been in a chapter 13 for the past 4 years. I have worked 70 hours a week for the last four years and if has paid a toll on my health. The last 12 months health situations have arose causing serious problems. During the last three months serious health issues have arose which is going to now restrict my working hours. I have two letters for my physicians stating that my hours or weekly work is now restricted to 40 hours or less. On top of this my emloyer has had several low census days for which I am told there is no work for the shift, so on top of my illness with days missed I my work hours are decreased. I am extremely stressed about this. I have taxes on my chapt 13 can these be discharge? Over the years I have paid more money than I even originally owed. I have had to increase my exemptions just so I can have enough money to pay my bills and this has got me further in debt with taxes this is becoming a vicious circle. And now with my health situation I don't know what to do.
I read that I possibly could qualify for a hardship discharge. Please advise

Welcome linda,
A hardship discharge is granted by the bankruptcy court in case if the debtor has suffered any personal injury or is unable to work for reasons beyond his or her control. You can contact your bankruptcy attorney and apply for a hardship discharge.
