If I decide to file bankruptcy can I file without it affecting my husband and our mortgage?...I want to file Chapter 7 on credit card debt I incurred in my name only.
hi tgillilan!

welcome to forums!

if you file for chapter 7 bankruptcy, you will have to list all your assets in the bankruptcy filing. in my opinion, it would be better if you could go for chapter 13 bankruptcy in which you should include only your credit card debts.

as you want to file bankruptcy just to get rid of the credit card payments, it would be better if you could look for a debt settlement. you can contact any debt settlement company and check out their programs. this will help you paying off your debts.

feel free to ask if you've further queries.
