we filed for chpt 7 bankruptcy which has been discharged. we are current on our first mortgage through the home modification plan.
we included both the first and second mortgages in the bankruptcy filing. we did not reaffirm the second mortgage, and 2 years later we received a letter from the second mortgage holder that they have charged-off the debt and transferred it to a collection agency, which has already contacted us.
in the letter from the collection agency it states that we should submit our bankruptcy discharge document. is this going to help us?

Hi Guest,
As your bankruptcy has been discharged and as you've not reaffirmed your second mortgage, you're not personally responsible for it. Thus, the second lender or the collection agency will not be able to collect the dues from you. You should submit the bankruptcy documents to the collection agency as they've asked for. It will definitely help you.
Thanks
