Planning to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy

Posted on: 24th Mar, 2013 11:26 pm
hi there… i am planning to file chapter 7 bankruptcy. will chapter 7 forgive the taxes that i owe? how about my student loans? how come medical bills don't show up on any report but i get them in mail once in a blue moon as a reminder?
Welcome Guest,

You won't be able to get a discharge from your student loans and IRS taxes even though you file Chapter 7 bankruptcy. You will have to pay them off. As far as medical debts are concerned, you can list them when you file bankruptcy and get them discharged.

Hi Guest!

Welcome to the forums!

You should speak to a bankruptcy attorney and discuss the whole matter with him/her. He or she will let you know how you should approach the whole matter.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
