Hi there... I have a question and am wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I filed bankruptcy and got a discharged a few months ago from a CH7. I was told that it was a good idea to obtain credit if I received offers. I have opened two accounts, a capital one credit card and a credit one bank credit card. My plan was to let these cards establish for 6-12 months and then apply for another account. However, I received a score alert after receiving the new trade lines showing that my score actually dropped 23 points!! Is this normal?
When you apply for credit cards, the creditors will go for a hard inquiry on your credit report. This lowers the credit scores for the time being. If you pay your debts on time, then with time your scores will improve.
Hi Solstice,
I agree with what Niicss has said. Scores will get dropped due to hard inquiries on your credit report. In order to improve your credit scores, you can check out the given page: http://www.mortgagefit.com/credit-rating/credit-repair.html .
Thanks

Those two credit cards will be enough to reestablish your credit, you don't need a third one. Just pay those two on time and you'll be fine.
