what if my chapter 13 bankruptcy was “closed and not discharged†because we had a chapter 7, 3 years back? what can we do now?? we would like to get a car loan to rebuild credit but we are having no luck.
You should note that time limits related to bankruptcy actually applies to discharges and not to the bankruptcy filing. A Chapter 13 filer wot be able to receive a discharge under Chapter 13 if the filer received a Chapter 7 discharge in the last 4 years. It is strange that your bankruptcy attorney did not mention this fact to you. You should contact your attorney immediately and take his opinion in this matter.
Hi Guest,
Unless you get a discharge, you won't be able to take steps to rebuild your scores. As Niicss has suggested, get in touch with your bankruptcy attorney and take his opinion in this regard.
Thanks
