Question on mortgag

Posted on: 25th Apr, 2009 02:21 pm
I filed a chapter 13 lsat year, I am having diffcult paying my mortgage. I did not file that under the 13. Can I do that now, or should I sale the house and try to apply for another home with a FHA mortgage? Will I be ab le to do this?
Hi cphillips,

I believe you have not yet been discharged of chapter 13, right? Getting an FHA loan at this point in time is not going to be possible. To qualify for an FHA loan after chapter 13, you must have made payments on all accounts including utilities etc, on time for the past 12 months. I think you should consult with your bankruptcy attorney and find out if there is any option of including the mortgage in the chapter 13.

hi,

If you have been paying on the Chapter 13 for 1 year and making timely payments you would be permitted to apply for a FHA loan; provided you must receive approval from the court to enter into a mortgage transaction.

No bad credit after the bankruptcy, No collections, No judgments, No Exceptions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you have to discuss your case with local lenders or mortgage brokers. They will help you in it.
