i am at my last chapter 13 bankruptcy payment and i get a notice from the trustee that i didn't send in my 2007 tax return. i faxed my lawyer the form to request permission to keep the tax refund due to hardship and didn't follow thru with it and now i don't have $985.00 to complete the plan. my lawyer seems to be ignoring me. can my lawyer do something to help me?
You should have submitted your tax refunds to the bankruptcy trustee. If you don't pay off the money, there are chances that your bankruptcy filing may get dismissed. I don't think your bankruptcy attorney has anything to do in this regard.
Thanks Niicss, that is kind of what I was thinking as my attorney is totally ignoring me - I guess I will let my Chapter 13 be dismissed as it is no way I can come up with $985.00
i want to declare bankruptsy and i have a rev mtg ... what will happen

hi guest. Did you want to keep the house? You are allowed so much in exemptions. Your attorney will ask you some questions to verify if you qualify for bankruptcy. and you many or may not be able to keep your house. I've just recently seen a chapter 7 bankruptcy case where the person kept the house and had a reverse mortgage. And the case was discharged. good luck
