my bankruptcy discharge will be 2 years old in jan of next year. my question is can i cash out on a refinance and plus my lawyer dropped the ball and did not reafirm my house in the bankruptcy. will that affect any refinancing? i have a fha mortgage now. or do i need to go with a different type of mortgage? or can i even refinance to begin with ? i've been given so many different answers , hope you can help.

As you are not responsible for the debt personally, there are chances that the mortgage lenders may not refinance the loan. Nevertheless, you should contact your local lenders and apply for refinance. The lenders will let you know whether or not they can consider your situation and give you a refinance.
