i filed chapter 7 that was discharged in feb 2010, i included my house since i was still unemployed and wasn't sure if i would be able to keep it. unemployment ended before i found a job, and i was not lucky enough to have a lender slow in filing bankruptcy, 3rd month i was late they filed and have a sales date in 4 months.
now i am working but working less hours and less salary than before the lay off. i have a 1st, 2nd and hoa dues each month. on the current salary i can't pay all 3 in full. looking for full time job with higher salary but its not happening.
my payments really aren't that high if i made a descent income, so i'm not going to be able to find similar for cheaper, but until that other job comes i have no way to catch it up and keep it current. i want to apply for a modification making home affordable, which is supposed to help people in my situation but nothing tells me how the bankruptcy affects this.
my 2nd lien holder says applying takes it out of bankruptcy status, the 1st tells me it will still be under the bankruptcy until a agreement.

Hi Guest,
As far as I know, applying for a loan modification won't remove the account from bankruptcy. However, it would the discretion of the lenders whether or not they would offer you a mortgage modification.
Thanks
