Filing 7; Renters to Own Property what do I do

Posted on: 12th Oct, 2009 11:24 am
I have two properties; my personal residence which I am including on my BK; and another property that the current renters of 5+ years have been in, making payments directly to the escrow company - my name is still on the title.
How do I turn over the the renter property to the renters so they don't lose what they have been buying and not do anything fraudulent?
hi blakelykathleen!

welcome to forums!

though it's a rental property, it is one of your assets and you will have to include it in your bankruptcy filing. if you transfer the property just before filing bankruptcy, it would be considered as a fraudulent transfer. i would suggest you to discuss the case with you attorney and then transfer the property.

feel free to ask if you've further queries.
