quitclaim how it works with bankruptcy

Posted on: 15th Dec, 2009 01:11 pm
I recently filed for chapter 7 and has interview date with Trustee next week now my inlaws that i bought the house with want me to sign quit claim to sell or handover or to sell the house before it goes to foreclosed and to avoid future unpaid payment. Is it going to cause problem for the bankrupcy filing and how? what should i do to help them without causing any problem for me.
hi akmrahman!

welcome to forums!

as you've already filed bankruptcy, you should not go ahead with signing the quit claim deed. if you sign the quit claim deed now, it would be considered as fraudulent and you may be penalized by the trustee. you can contact your bankruptcy attorney and take his suggestion in this regard.

feel free to ask if you've further queries.
