My ex-wife was ordered to pay me a few thousand dollars by the judge. The debt was because she didn't pay for child care expenses from our divorce. She filed for Ch 7 and lists me as a creditor. I go to the hearing and file paperwork that says it shouldn't be dischargeable. Is it true??
Hi Wolks,
Child support cannot get discharged in a bankruptcy filing. Like student loans and IRS debts, one needs to pay off the child support debt in full.
Take care.
