i need to know if i am voulantarily making payments at
the moment and i cannot do so no more- and i give the
vehicle back to them will they go after my co-signer? and
if they do how can i get them not to go after my co-signer?

you can't prevent a creditor from seeking payments from your co-signer, with one notable exception. that exception would be if you continue to make payments - that would eliminate your co-signer from jeopardy.
creditor has every right to recover money from you & cosigner.
