In 2009 we were discharged in Chapter 7. I received a 1098 on both the 1st & 2nd. from lender for 2010. I just received credit reports from the 3 credit Agencies7/10/2011 two shows both loans discharged. Other shows balance on first $ and second shows 0. How do I find out which is right. My lawyer said he does not do reaffirmations. How do I find out what is true.Does the court maintain copies of reaffirmation agreements if I did one? Been making payments on time since discharge.
Hi rquincel!

Welcome to forums!

You should check out your bankruptcy discharge documents and find out if you have reaffirmed your mortgage. You can even contact your lender and find out if the loan has been reaffirmed. Your credit reports should mention the fact that the bankruptcy filing has been discharged.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

I'm incredulous that you wouldn't know if you reaffirmed any debt in your bankruptcy filing. And if your lawyer told you he doesn't do reaffirmations, what would give you the idea that you went ahead and did so? Would you have done so against his advice?

The uncommon is rapidly becoming the mundane.
