Can a collection agency make collection attempts even after I have received a bankruptcy discharge on that debt?
Once you are discharged from bankruptcy, automatic stay gets withdrawn. Then the collection agency can make collection attempts.
Hi Korli!
Welcome to forums!
After you have received a bankruptcy discharge from your debts, then the collection agency (CA) can't come after you to recover any of the debts. If they do so, that will be considered as illegal. You can get in touch with your bankruptcy attorney and can request him/her to deal with the CA.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

I am not agree with what Scot had said. Once you got discharged in bankruptcy, your creditor can't chase you for debt collection. If a collection agency is trying to collect a debt that you have discharged in bankruptcy, then the collection agency will be violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
