I file bankruptcy back in 06', paid on time through payroll deduction. I moved to another state to get a better job, but when I got here the job was put on hold, so I got a retail job until that one comes through. So it made me get 2 months behind on my payments. When I call the trustee before I moved, I ask what to do, they said because I only owed for a few more months just send payment in. well things did not go as plan, so with only less than $1000.00 owed, they are trying to dismiss it. What can I do, I only owe for my car?
Welcome william,
If you don't make the payments on time as per your bankruptcy plan, the bankruptcy court has the rights to dismiss your case. Once your case is dismissed, the lenders/creditors will be able to come after you for the payments and can even foreclose your property or repossess your car.
