if I file for bankruptcy will this effect my social security check. I am 70 years old.and a widow and at present time can not work
Thelma

Your question really requires the answer from a BK attorney becuase of other complexities you may have associated with your BK filing.

Yet in all of post filing clients I have worked with, I have never seen a BK
affect SS benefits. Based on observation, I'd say not likely.

hi thelmacollins!

welcome to forums!

your social security income cannot be garnished or taken away by the lenders if you file for bankruptcy. you will be able to keep all your monthly disability checks and also eliminate your debt as you are filing bankruptcy.

feel free to ask if you have further queries.
