I filed for bankruptcy in Nov. 2007 shortly after my mortgage payments increased by $125.00 per month (insurance/taxes). I tried to stay at least two months behind, but with the amount taken from my check for the bankruptcy and increase in gas, food and just everyday living I fell behind an additional two months. I am depsperately trying to get at least two months behind again until or if I can get a modification.
Am I eligible?

Hi nhickman!

You should speak to the lender about your financial crisis and apply for a loan modification. As the lender has already given you a repayment plan during the bankruptcy, it would be his discretion whether or not he would give you a modification. I don't think it would be a good option to get past due on your mortgage payments as the lender would immediately foreclose the property.
