i live in the state of florida and am filing bankruptcy and including my home. how much time will we have in our home after filing. i have been told we will have to surrender the keys 90 days after the date of filing, but i have also been told that we will have until the foreclosure goes through which could take several months.
Hi tmslawiak,

As far as I know, you don't have to surrender the property immediately after filing bankruptcy. If the property is sold off in order to pay your creditors, then you'll have to leave the property and surrender the keys. You would receive a notice of eviction to leave the property once the sale is over. The date to leave the property will be mentioned in the notice. You'll have to leave the house within that given time period.
