my girlfriend is considering filing bankruptcy. unfortunately, her mother put her on the deed for two homes she (the mother) owns. she did this thinking it would be easier for my girlfriend in the event the mother passes. this is/was not a good idea but it is what she did. my girlfriend has rented one of these homes from her mother for 10 years. she had her mother remove her from the deeds on both homes a year ago. one of the homes is on the market to be sold. how will this affect her ability to file for bankruptcy?
Hi jasonbehles,
If your girlfriend is presently not the owner of the property any longer, then sale of those properties will not affect her bankruptcy filing in any way.
Thanks
