Filing bankruptcy - not reaffirm

Posted on: 26th Sep, 2012 01:23 am
due to financial hardship, i'm filing bankruptcy next week. i won't be reaffirming my mortgage. so, how long will it take for the lender to foreclose my property? i want to get rid of this asap!!
Hi Castor,

As you won't be reaffirming the mortgage, you can surrender the property to the lender. Now it will depend upon the lender as to how much time he will take to foreclose the property.

Thanks,

Jerry

Hi Castor!

Welcome to forums!

I fully agree with what Jerry has said. It is quite difficult to say as to when the lender would foreclose the property after you file bankruptcy. You should contact the lender and ask him to sell off the property ASAP if you want to get it done fast.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
