My property is going to foreclosure sale and it is under my name but the loan that is in default is not under my name can a bankruptcy filed by me still stop the sale?
I think loan modification will be the best option than file bankrutcy to avoide forlosure. They will ask for loan borrower.

Thanks & Regards.

Hi gary!

Welcome to forums!

The person whose name is on the mortgage docs can file bankruptcy and stop the foreclosure sale of the property. However, you should note that as your name is not on the mortgage docs, a foreclosure sale will not effect your credit.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
