Increase in payments

Posted on: 13th May, 2010 03:40 pm
I had filed ch 13 bankruptcy back in nov 05 to pay off my mortgage taxes & other debts. My payments were around $400 then. Recently the court has increased my payments to $800. I told them I can't come up with these high payments as my only source of income is SS. I was told by the court that if I'm unable to make the new payments then the case will be dismissed & all my creditors will come after me. I just want to know what options are available to me.
Hi robbinsanthony!

Welcome to forums!

It is true that if you are unable to come up with the required payments, then the bankruptcy case will be dismissed and your creditors will be able to come after you for the dues. I would suggest you to contact your bankruptcy attorney and take his opinion in this matter. He may help you with some suggestions.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
