Hi there… I had filed bankruptcy some years back and finally few days ago, my bankruptcy filing got removed from my credit report. But to my surprise, the credit score only went up by 6 points? Is this correct? I mean I thought it would go up by at least 50 points!!
Hi Nancie,
Your credit score won't increase by 50 points immediately. You will have to wait for sometime after the bankruptcy discharge and then check your credit report. I'm sure, after 3 months, there are high chances that your scores will improve greatly.
Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Nancie!
Welcome to forums!
I agree with what Jerry has said. Your score won't rise immediately after the bankruptcy filling falls off your credit report. You need to give it at least 2-3 months time and then you may find that your score has risen by 40-50 points. Moreover, you need to take other credit repair tips to improve your score.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
