my husband and i had a 2nd mortgage that was paid by mortgage insurance due to a chapter 13 bankruptcy. the chapter 13 was filed 4 years ago. we have not received anything from the mortgage insurance company (aig) concerning the paid claim. we are about to payout our chapter 13 and now i am concerned about the 2nd mortgage. can anyone help or been through something lke this before? tia
hi guest,
well... you need to contact your mortgage insurance company and discuss the matter with them. they will be able to guide you better in this matter. there are chances that you may get a payment plan in order to pay off the second mortgage.
thanks

Guest, if I read correctly, the second mortgage was paid off via the mortgage insurance. Frankly, I wouldn't expect to receive any documentation from an MI company indicating the payoff. You ought to receive whatever information and/or documentation from the original lender. All the MI company did was provide assurance for the lender that the debt would be paid. You are not the MI company's client - the lender is the client.
