our landlord came to us oct 1 2010 and said they were giving the house back to the bank we currently had 6mo left on our lease to stay in the house. we recieved in the mail papers stating our landlords meeting with the creditors was going to be on oct 27 2010, we want to know can we stay in the home untill our lease is expired? legally how long will the bank let us stay in the home? do we pay our rent to the landlords or to the bank or do we save it to move elsewhere? our lease is up in april 2011. can the landlords evict us or can the bank evict us? if either bank or landlord start eviction process how long do we have to leave home? landlord told us they did not have to pay their morgage payment but that we would have to continue paying them rent, arent we putting spending cash in their pockets?please help with as much info as possible thank you mariel p
Hi marielpalen!
Welcome to forums!
As your landlord is returning the property back to the bank, you should contact the lender and make the payments to him. You should negotiate with the lender so that you can stay in the property for the next 6 months until your lease expires. There are chances that the lender will let you stay in the property for the next 6 months.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
