Post Chapter 7 Bankruptcy - Want to leave house, liable?

Posted on: 17th Aug, 2010 02:09 pm
any info is appreciated. The situation: My wife have not payed our mortgage since Oct. '09, we declared chapter 7 in December, court approved and discharge received in April 2010. Other than an "intent to accelerate" notice in June, we have heard nothing from BofA (1st and 2nd mortgage) about the pending foreclosure.

We are moving on Oct. 15, giving us two months to deal with how to properly leave the house. Are we liable for any damages that occur to the property after we leave? Besides contacting BofA and handing over keys, are there any actions we should take before leaving? I hate to leave the house vacant, but I need to move for work.

Thank you in advance
