How to get a lien released

Posted on: 29th Dec, 2009 08:11 am
we declared bankruptcy a while back. last september we were finally able to purchase a home. since the rates dropped, we tried to refinance and found that two of the creditors included in the bankruptcy have filed liens on the property. the county is not being very helpful and we don't know what to do. someone said we need the book and page number but we don't know how to get that either. can you provide some direction? thank you.
Hi lsgoss!

Welcome to forums!

If you filed bankruptcy and got your mortgage discharged, then the lender will not be able to place a lien on your present property. He will only be able to sell off your earlier property and recover his debts. I would suggest you to contact your bankruptcy attorney and take his suggestions in this regard.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
