List transfer in bankruptcy

Posted on: 13th Jun, 2012 03:24 am
i presently have zero claims on my house as my name was removed from the mortgage and property at the time of divorce. i am filing bankruptcy. should i list this transfer when i file bankruptcy? i have no interest in that property.
If the property has been already transferred and if you're not the owner of the property, then I don't think you will have to list the transfer in your bankruptcy filing. Nevertheless, you should contact your attorney and check out his opinion in this regard.

Hi Lisszy!

Welcome to forums!

If one year has not passed since the property transfer has taken place, it will be better if you could mention that in your bankruptcy filing. However, taking the opinion of the bankruptcy attorney in this regard will be the best option.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

As you said that you have no interest in that property then how can you file bankruptcy for such property which you have not right upon.
