My grandmother financed a home for me under her name. and she is now going bankrupt. can she quitclaim the deed to me if I'm still paying on the mortgage?
you'll need to check questions like that with the bankruptcy court. filter them through the lawyer handling the case.

obtaining someone's permission to give something to him or her is not necessary. what is needed is permission from the bankruptcy court to do this at all.

hi

any transfer within past 1 year of filing bankruptcy will be seen as a means to avoid creditors and will hence be considered as fraudulent. so, if your grandmom is on the title she can't quitclaim it to you before filing bankruptcy. but if she's only on the mortgage the lender may allow you to take over the mortgage, given you refinance the loan in your name.
