Posted on: 12th Nov, 2013 09:41 pm
I filed bankruptcy about 3 and 1/2 years ago. I don't receive monthly payments anymore because of bankruptcy discharged. But i am still make a payments on time and they take money from me. Do i continue to make payments or not. They told me that they can't collect money from me anymore, because it's illegal for them to collect.
I would like to get answer as soon as possible.

Hi Sunny,

You can surrender the property to the lender and walk away from it. If you haven't reaffirmed your mortgage, then you will not be liable for paying any money to the lender in regards to your mortgage.

Thanks,

Jerry
