Can I reaffirm my house after a bankruptcy?

Posted on: 16th Sep, 2010 01:19 pm
i filed chapter 7 bankruptcy in feb. 2010 and was discharged in july 2010 because i was in a car accident in 2008 that caused me to get behind 6 payments in my mortgage and i was under the impression that my attorney made sure that the reaffirmation was taken care of but i got a letter from pnc mortgage that it wasn't. since the case is discharged, they probably will not reopen my case. i was in the middle of a loan modification when i filed. i had made all trial payments and done everything they asked me to do to get this 6 payments caught up. right in the middle they dropped me out of the program. my question is does the reaffirmation help me from forclosure in my situation? i am still making payments on time since the modification process. they haven't sent any payments back to me. it seems as if they can still forclose on me because of those past missed payments. is this true?
