Refiling a chapter 7 bankruptcy case

Posted on: 24th Aug, 2009 04:10 pm
my chapter 7 bankruptcy case was dismissed because i didnt take the credit counciling course within the time frame. how long do i have to wait until i can refile? and does my credit counciling course certificate expire?
Hi joanna!

Welcome to forums!

As far as I know, you would be able to refile your Chapter 7 bankruptcy immediately as it was dismissed by the court. Yes, your credit counseling course certificate can expire. Once it's expired, you need to re-register for the course.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

I think an attorney will be the right person to specifically tell you about this query.or else you can just ring any one of them. Just go on NADA official website.or else you can enquire it with the court officials also.because this may vary from state to state.

I hope this will answer your query.

Our Chapter 13 was dismissed this past September. Can it still be converted to a Chapter 7? or can we file Chapter 7 now? We have never filed Chapter 7 before?
Help!!
Thanks!!

As your bankruptcy was dismissed, it won't be possible for you to convert it. You will have to file Chapter 7 now in order to get rid of your debts.
