I filed bankruptcy on a property I had purchased with an ex boyfriend. I filed 5 years ago. I am only now realizing I am still on the deed. I would like to my name off the deed/title completly. How do I accomplish this?
After do that you have to contact to your lender & ask him about that.
Hi Tiffami!

What type of a bankruptcy did you file? If you filed Chapter 13, then you must have received a payment plan to pay off the dues. Thus, the property is still in your name. After you pay off the dues, you can sell it or transfer it off to someone else to remove your name to the property deed. You should note that filing a bankruptcy will not help you in removing your name from the property.
