I had filed bankruptcy and have received a discharge. But surprisingly, I'm still receiving bills from creditors after a year of my bankruptcy discharge. Also, my accounts show balances when I check my credit report. Some have even sold to collection agencies and are showing as collections. In addition to all that I have 2 accounts that show 2 different open and close dates. I do have a meeting with an attorney this week but from what I have read all this is against the law? thanks for help...
Hi Hanna,
It is surprising indeed that your accounts are being reported by the creditors even after your bankruptcy filing has been discharged. You have taken the right decision by planning to contact your bankruptcy attorney. You should contact your bankruptcy attorney and check out what steps you need to take in this regard. Your bankruptcy attorney will be the best person to help you in this regard.
Take care.

Hi Hanna!
Welcome to forums!
I agree with Sara...When your accounts have been discharged in your bankruptcy filing, no one can contact for those debts again. It is illegal for the creditors or the collection agency to contact you for the debts when your debts have been discharged in your bankruptcy filing. You can take legal actions against the lender/CA for contacting you for a discharged debt.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
