i need to know what is the residency requirement for filing bankruptcy in us? we were in europe for most part of our lives and have now returned to the us in feb 2012. we now want to file bankruptcy.

As far as I know, you must have lived in the state, where yofiling bankruptcy, for the greater part of the 180 days leading up to bankruptcy. Basically, you must live in the state for 91 days or more prior to filing.
