My ex and i own a duplex together.
She kicked me out of our home 3 yrs ago.
The first year i continued to make mrtg payments but had to stop as i was also renting somewhere else and could not afford 2 places...
She has recently filed bankruptcy and she is still in the house.
I have been told that the house is now none of my bussiness, however i was on the hook for a joint credit card.
A house that i have not stepped foot in, in 3 yrs has cost me 9,000 and it is none of my bussiness, that does not seem right to me...
What can i do to be legally NOT binded to this woman anymore and still have good credit??

your are not jointly filing bankruptcy with your ex. thus, the bankruptcy will not have a negative affect on your credit report. however, as the property is included in bankruptcy filing, you will lose it. if your name is on the property deed, then after the sale of the property, you would be able to receive your share. for further advice in this issue, you can have a word with your bankruptcy attorney.
feel free to ask if you've further queries.
