i need to know if i can file a voluntary dismissal if i work out payment to creditors in a chapter 7 bankruptcy. if so, is there any effect on credit if you sort of take it back and pay everyone? will i be able to completely remove the bankruptcy dismissal from my credit report?
If you can negotiate with your creditors and set up a payment plan, then you can apply for a voluntary dismissal of your bankruptcy filing. However, this will be mentioned in your bankruptcy and you won't be able to remove it from your credit report come what may.
Hi bjz8f8!
Welcome to forums!
Like any negative item, the bankruptcy dismissal will remain mentioned in your credit report for the next 7 years. You won't be able to remove it from the credit report. But with time, the affect of bankruptcy dismissal will lower and your scores will improve.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
